(WJAR) — The man accused of the murder of a pregnant teen is set to appear in court on Wednesday.
For a week, Kylee Monteiro was the subject of a desperate search.
She was found at the property of 22-year-old Gregory Groom.
Police say Groom was the last person to see Monteiro alive.
They were in a relationship together, and Groom first reported her missing on August 7th.
Groom is set to appear at Taunton District Court, charged with Monteiro’s murder.
On Tuesday, the Bristol County District Attorney confirmed that Groom was already facing a number of charges: including assault and battery of a pregnant woman, intimidation of a witness, and domestic assault and battery.
This all stems from an alleged incident at Groom’s home on August 6th, one day before he reported Kylee missing.
It is not known what exactly happened at the home on the 6th, but Kylee’s body was found at the property last night.
Kylee’s family says they weren’t aware of any abuse until the August 6 incident.
They plan to be at Groom’s arraignment.
