NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — The guardian of a 2-year-old girl who was killed in a hit-and-run has been arrested, as well as the driver who allegedly hit her.
According to Charleston County Coroner Bobbi Jo O’Neal, Haisha Dominguez Marin, 2, from Venezuela, died Wednesday, September 9.
North Charleston Police say that around 8:45 p.m., they responded to the area of Rivers Avenue and Eagle Drive after receiving reports that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle.
When they arrived, they found Marin dead at the scene.
An investigation led officers to the suspect’s vehicle, a 2020 Toyota Tacoma.
Officers were able to locate the address registered to the Toyota. On Thursday, they went there and made contact with Anayely Lovato Guerrero, 27.

They say that Guerrero told them she left Goodwill around 8:40 and drove past the area. She said she heard a bang but did not notice anything, so she continued driving.
Officers took her in for further questioning. They arrested her following an interview.
She is charged with reckless homicide and leaving the scene of an accident involving death.
According to the North Charleston Police Department, the toddler’s guardian has been identified as Glaimar Alejandra Ramirez Dominguez, 21.

They say the circumstances surrounding the care and supervision of the juvenile were disputed by the evidence available to detectives.
She has also been arrested and charged with unlawful conduct toward a child.
The investigation is ongoing.
