Donald Trump predicts the war with Iran could extend beyond the midterm elections in November. (September 13, 2026)
SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — President Donald Trump said Sunday the war with Iran could continue until after the November midterm elections, though he said a deal could come sooner.
Speaking to reporters at the Amgen Irish Open in Ireland, Trump said Iran is eager to negotiate but he would not accept a deal he considers unfavorable.
Trump also predicted gasoline prices would “drop like a rock” once the conflict ends.
The comments come as the Iran conflict continues to affect global energy markets.
