SEATTLE — An investigation is underway after a stabbing victim boarded a northbound Link light rail Sunday afternoon near downtown Seattle.
Seattle Fire Department crews responded to reports of a stabbing near the Symphony Station at Third Ave. at 4:23 p.m.
Firefighters treated an approximately 30-year-old man who was in stable condition, and paramedics transported him to Harborview Medical Center.
Seattle police initially said the stabbing happened on the light rail train.
However, Sound Transit told KOMO News that the person was stabbed off-property in Pioneer Square and proceeded into the Pioneer Square station, boarding a northbound train.
At Symphony station, the 1 and 2 line service was stopped for about 20 minutes while the victim was treated and transported. KCSO cleared the scene.
As of the SPD’s last update, the suspect remains at large.
