Diesel prices hit record high amid U.S.-Iran tensions

Diesel prices reached a record high of $6.23 per gallon overnight, marking the sixth straight day of record-breaking costs, as fighting between the U.S. and Iran continues in the Strait of Hormuz.
AAA reported the new average price for diesel, which is widely used in commercial shipping and could lead to higher prices for consumer goods, including groceries.
The price of regular gas is also rising. The national average for a gallon of regular gas is now $4.32. In Cincinnati, the average price is $4.08, while Covington reports $4.16. Dearborn County, where gas taxes remain suspended, has the lowest average at $3.69.
Brent crude, the main oil benchmark that influences gas prices, climbed to $108 per barrel overnight.
