Drivers were urged to plan ahead and allow for extra time amid the delays this morning. National Highways said: “On the M62 eastbound there are delays of 90 minutes due to a collision closing 2 lanes (of 3) between J24 Ainley Top Interchange (Huddersfield, Halifax A629) and J25 Clifton Interchange (Brighouse, Dewsbury A644).
“The collision involved a van and a car. Due to the damage and the car being an EV the vehicles couldn’t be cleared to the hard shoulder.
“Recovery is on scene removing the vehicles. There were no injuries as a result of the collision.
“If this closure impacts on your planned route, please allow extra journey time. Plan ahead, you may wish to re-route or even delay your journey.”
The motorway was fully reopened at around 8.50am.
