Sharon Bukulmez, 61, was last seen leaving a family function in Jonesboro with her two young grandchildren on Saturday night, Maine State Police said.
ROQUE BLUFFS, Maine — A woman from Mount Desert and her two young grandkids were found dead in a submerged vehicle in Pond Cove in Roque Bluffs.
61-year-old Sharon Bukulmez was last seen at around 8:30 p.m. Saturday, according to a release from Maine State Police.
Bukulmez had left a family function in Jonesboro with her 5-year-old granddaughter, Kinsley Grubb, and 3-year-old grandson, Sawyer Grubb, both from Bar Harbor, officials said. The three were traveling to Machias.

Officials tried to locate Bukulmez and the children, and information from her cellphone showed she was in the water near the boat ramp at the end of Schoppee Point Road in Roque Bluffs.
The Maine Marine Patrol and the Maine State Police Dive Team located the car around 7 a.m. Sunday, submerged in Pond Cove.
The bodies of Bukulmez and her two grandchildren, along with the vehicle, were recovered from the water, according to officials.
The bodies have been transported to the Office of Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta, where autopsies will be performed.
The circumstances of the incident are still under investigation, according to officials.
