Senior coach Dean Cox has named his side for the club’s last hitout this season.
The Sydney Swans will travel to Perth this weekend for a clash with the West Coast Eagles, the team’s last for the 2025 AFL season. Senior coach Dean Cox has made three changes with Brodie Grundy, Riley Bice and Corey Warner set to be injected back in the side.Â
Star ruckman Grundy missed last weekend’s match after sustaining a concussion in Round 22 against the Brisbane Lions. Speaking to Sydney Swans Media, Cox said his ruck was feeling good and Coz was eager to see his return.Â
“He’s trained well for the last 12 days through protocols,” the coach shared.Â
“He’s ticked everything off he and [we’re] really excited to see him back and finish the year off with what’s been a very, very strong one.”
Grundy will replace Peter Ladhams who has been omitted alongside young players Caiden Cleary and Jesse Dattoli.Â
Ahead of the Saturday afternoon clash (live on the east coast from 7:35pm) Cox admitted that the Eagles are a tough opposition on Optus Stadium. He reiterated his hope to finish the year off strong.Â
“I think that’s one thing that we spoke about with the players all week; we looked really closely at that Adelaide game,” he said.
“The mindset, the pressure they put on the ball carrier, their ability to move the ball as well so that’s one thing that we’ve honed in on with the players…”
While the AFL season is coming to a close, the Sydney Swans continue their 2025 campaign in the AFLW with Round 2 on Saturday. See the team HERE.Â
