How to get there: Fly to Bodø then take the daily fast ferry to Støtt (around one hour).
Best time to visit: June and July for the midnight Sun and long days outdoors. November to February for the Northern Lights and stargazing.
What to do: Cycle around the island, explore World War Two tunnels, kayak, take a RIB boat to the Svartisen glacier, watch sea eagles and migratory birds, visit Støtt museum or go fishing. You can also take boat trips to hidden coves and go snowshoeing.
