Several people have been shot at a townhouse in the Arlington View neighborhood near Columbia Pike.
The shooting happened shortly before 3 a.m. on the 1600 block of 10th Street S. Initial reports suggest that at least two people were shot and others were grazed or injured in the panic after someone opened fire at a large house party.
So far, there are no reports of life threatening injuries, though one of the gunshot victims suffered a serious injury, according to police.
In all, three people were transported via ambulance to local hospitals, Arlington County police said on social media. Two injured people later “self reported” to a hospital.
Virginia State Police and a police helicopter from another jurisdiction assisted county police in a search of the area. Officers remained on scene investigating and interviewing witnesses.
The suspect fled on foot and remains at large, according to police.
“Expect continued police activity and avoid the area,” ACPD said.
In a press release Saturday afternoon, police said the shooting followed some sort of dispute. From ACPD:
The Arlington County Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred at a home in the Arlington View neighborhood during the early morning hours of September 26, 2026.
At approximately 2:54 a.m., police were dispatched to the 1600 block of 10th Street S. for the report of shots heard. Upon arrival, officers located multiple individuals suffering gunshot wounds inside a home and began providing aid. Medics transported three victims from the scene and two additional victims self-reported to the hospital. One of the victims, an adult female, sustained serious injuries and is in stable condition. The other victims, two adult males and two adult females, sustained non-life threatening injuries.
The preliminary investigation indicates the suspect left the home after being involved in a dispute during a house party. He later returned, brandished a firearm and discharged multiple rounds, injuring the victims, before fleeing the scene on foot. Officers canvassed the area with the assistance of a police helicopter and K9 but did not locate the suspect. The suspect is described as a Black male wearing denim.
This appears to be an isolated incident and the investigation has not indicated an ongoing threat to the community.
