(WFSB) – Fire and police departments across Connecticut reported multiple road closures on Saturday as downed trees and power lines blocked roadways during a coastal storm.
Barkhamsted
The Pleasant Valley Volunteer Fire Department reported multiple road closures in Barkhamsted due to the storm.
Center Hill Road is closed at Boettner Road because of a tree and wires down. Day Road is also closed, though drivers can use Boettner Road to go around the incident.
West Hill Road is closed at Perkins Road because of wires down in the roadway. The department said Perkins Road can still be accessed from the New Hartford side.
Bethel
Route 302 has been closed in both directions at Rockwell Road because of a tree down in wires since just after 9 a.m. Saturday, according to the DOT.
Bridgewater
Route 133 is reported to be closed in both directions in the area of Stuart Road because of a tree down in wires.
Clinton
Route 81 is reported to be closed at Oakwood Lane Saturday evening because of a tree down in wires, according to the DOT.
Colchester
CT DOT reports that several roads are closed due to trees down on wires. Route 16 is closed in both directions at Waterhole Road, and Route 149 is closed in both directions at Shailor Hill Road.
Durham
The DOT reports that Route 68 is closed in both directions at Pent Road because of a tree down in wires.
East Haddam
Route 434 is closed in both directions in the area of Sheep Skin Road in East Haddam Saturday afternoon. A tree is down in the road, and drivers are being asked to avoid the area.
Route 82 is also closed in both directions at Petticoat Lane due to tree down on wires.
Essex
Debris in the road on Route 9 southbound has closed the left lane between Exits 5 and 3 Saturday night, according to the DOT.
Groton
Groton Utilities reported two separate power outages in town. A large tree fell on primary power lines along Route 12 near Dunkin, cutting power to Navy Housing in the area of Toll Gate Road and to the north. Crews will need to remove the tree and repair the lines, a process Groton Utilities said could take some time.
Groton Utilities later said the fallen tree on Briar Hill Road had been cleared and crews were finishing repairs to the power lines there, with the repair expected to be completed soon.
Power has been restored to most of the Navy Housing area, including Toll Gate Road and north, according to Groton Utilities.
Crews are still working to restore power near the Shell station and Dunkin, which Groton Utilities said it hopes to complete soon.
Hamden
State police report that Route 15 southbound near exit 53 is closed due to a tree down across both lanes. The highway is closed, and drivers are being asked to seek alternate routes.
Killingworth
Route 81 was closed at North Parker Hill Road, according to the Killingworth Volunteer Fire Co., which said drivers should expect additional road closures and detours as the storm intensifies.
Late Saturday afternoon, Route 148 was also reported to be closed at Burr Hill Road because of a tree down in wires.
The department asked residents to stay off the roads if possible.
Lebanon
Officials report that Route 207 is closed in both directions between Levita Road and Old Colchester Road due to a tree down with wires.
Lisbon
The DOT reports that Route 12 is closed in both directions in the area of 449 River Road because of a tree and wires in the roadway.
Lyme
Lyme Public Safety reported at approximately 6 p.m. that a tree was down in the roadway on Beaverbrook Road, with wires involved and power out in the neighborhood. The road was closed for almost six hours, but is now open.
Madison
Madison police shared that the following roads are closed as of 10 p.m. Saturday due to roadway hazards:

The DOT says that New Haven Avenue (Route 162) has been closed in both directions between Old Gate Lane and Pond Point Avenue since approximately 12:47 p.m. due to flooding.
Montville
A fallen tree brought down wires that are blocking Old Colchester Road between Hillcrest Drive and Moxley Road, the Montville Police Department said, adding that the closure could last an unknown amount of time.
Drivers were told to find another route, and residents who spot downed wires were asked to call police dispatch at 860-848-7510.
New Canaan
As of 11:30 p.m. Saturday, a tree down in the roadway on Route 15 southbound has closed the right lane between Exits 14 and 13, according to the DOT.
New FairfieldNew MilfordNorth Stonington
The DOT reports that Route 201 is closed in both directions between Northwest Corner Road and Route 2 because of a transformer down in the road.
NorwalkOld Saybrook
Traffic lights were out at the Mystic Market intersection because of nearby downed wires, according to the Old Saybrook Police Department.
Separately, a tree fell onto a utility pole on Springbrook Road between house number 175 and Overlook Drive, knocking down a primary power line and cutting power to numerous homes in the area, according to the Old Saybrook Police Department and Old Saybrook Fire Department.
The fire department said Eversource had not given a timetable for repairs and asked drivers to stay behind the closure cones rather than try to pass through.
Pomfret
In Pomfret, Route 97 is reportedly closed in both directions between Taft Pond Road and North Road due to a downed tree.
Putnam
Fox Road was closed near house number 195 as of 10:15 a.m. Saturday due to a tree on power lines, according to the East Putnam Fire Department.
Redding
The DOT reports that Route 58 at Route 107 is being impacted due to a tree down on wires Saturday night.
Seymour
Route 188 is closed in both directions between Hull Road and Route 334 due to a tree down with wires, according to CT DOT.
South Windham
A tree fell near the South Windham firehouse, according to the South Windham Fire Department, which advised drivers to be careful on Machine Shop Hill Road.
Thompson
Town officials report several outages in the area, and a downed tree impacting travel on Riverside Drive.
Warren
According to CT DOT, Route 45 is closed in both directions Saturday afternoon at Curtis Road because of a tree down in wires.
Washington
The DOT reports that Route 202 is closed at Whittlesely Road due to tree down on wires.
WestonWestport
Downed wires were burning in the roadway on Easton Road, between the Berkeley Road entrances, according to the Westport Fire Department.
Crews responded to the scene, and the department told drivers to stay away from the area.
Officials said more trees, limbs and power lines could fall as strong winds persisted through the day.
Willington
As of 9:38 a.m. Saturday, the Willington Fire Department listed three roads with hazardous conditions or closures:

Officials asked residents not to approach any trees or wires that are down and to call 911 if they come across them.
Residents who encounter blocked roadways were told not to pass barricades and to follow the direction of public safety and town personnel.
Wilton
Four roads were completely closed and eight more were partially blocked in Wilton Saturday morning because of storm damage, according to the Wilton Police Department.
Public works crews were called in to begin clearing the roads as conditions allowed, and Eversource was notified about the closures tied to downed power lines.
Police said winds were expected to strengthen later in the day, raising the possibility of more fallen trees, wires, outages and closures.
Safety reminders
Officials across the affected towns repeated the same warning: treat every downed line as though it is live, never drive over or around one, and call 911 immediately to report wires that are down or burning.
