A 34-year-old man has died after a motorcycle crash in Toronto early Sunday morning, police said.
Officers responded to reports of single-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle near Lake Shore Boulevard W. and British Columbia Road around 5:25 a.m. Sunday, Toronto police said in a social media post on X.
The circumstances around the crash are still being investigated, but speed may have been a factor, Duty Insp. Jon Rose said at a news conference at the scene.
The motorcyclist was travelling westbound on Lake Shore Boulevard W. when he lost control, struck a pole and was ejected a short distance away, police said.
Rose said the man had “catastrophic injuries” and was pronounced dead at the scene. He said the motorcyclist’s family has been notified.
Roads in the area have reopened.
