A major incident is underway near Thatcham following an explosion on an industrial estate.
Explosions were heard from 8pm coming from a unit at Colthrop Business Park and were still continuing by 8.35pm.

Multiple fire engines are currently at the scene and a huge plume of smoke is billowing across the area.
Unconfirmed reports suggested lithium batteries were responsible for the explosions.
Meanwhile the unit appeared to be engulfed in flames.

Firefighters on the scene were unable to confirm whether anyone was hurt.
But Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service has reassured the public that they are aware of the incident after taking numerous calls.

“We have received a large number of calls to an incident on Colthrop Lane in Thatcham,” it said on a post on Facebook. “Please be assured that we are aware and currently have crews on the scene. Further information will be provided as soon as possible.”
