BREAKING: Shooting incident in County Limerick

A MAN has been hospitalised after being shot in County Limerick this Thursday evening, Limerick Live has learned.

The shooting incident occurred in West Limerick shortly before 7pm.

It is understood the victim suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries. There are also reports of a vehicle being rammed.

An air ambulance was seen in the sky by locals but it is understood the man was transported to University Hospital Limerick by ambulance.

The injured man is believed to be from West Limerick. A large crowd of family members have gathered at the hospital.

Gardai have launched a major investigation. The scene has been preserved for technical examination.

Gardai have been contacted for comment.
