According to a preliminary report, a flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv carrying more than 150 passengers briefly transmitted a code indicating aircraft hijacking, descended to a suspicious altitude and diverted toward Saudi Arabia. Two Israeli Air Force fighter jets were scrambled. Following the report, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz are convening an urgent security consultation. A security source emphasized that “there is no confirmed information about a hijacking, the pilot activated a distress signal.”
