Omaha police told KETV that the victim was not in possession of a firearm prior to the altercation. During the altercation, the student was shot and then was able to get the gun away from the suspect.

Omaha police said the students are under the age of 18.

Witnesses are being asked to go to Burke Boulevard south of the school and find an officer to report what they saw, Omaha police said.
