The Pentagon is increasing the amount of money U.S. troops can receive for serving in combat zones, spokesman Sean Parnell posted on social media Thursday.
Effective Thursday, hostile fire pay — provided to troops who take direct fire — will increase to a maximum of $450 a month, and individual danger pay — for those serving in a conflict zone — will increase to a maximum of $275 a month, Parnell said. Before, the maximum for either was $225 a month.
