The incident occurred on Bolton Road at the junction with Leeds Road on the evening of Monday, September 21.
Emergency services were called to the scene at around 8.10pm to reports of a collision involving the bike and a dark-coloured vehicle.
Officers said that when they arrived at the scene, the vehicle involved had already left and the off-road motorbike had been removed by an unknown person.
On Thursday morning, West Yorkshire Police confirmed the rider died in hospital on September 30 after sustaining serious head injuries.

Man locally named
He has now been locally named as 32-year-old Jordan ‘Diffy’.
A post on social media said a blue balloon release was set to take place at 6.30pm on Thursday at Bolton Woods Park.
Police probe continues
The force’s Major Collision Enquiry Team is continuing to investigate the incident and has issued a fresh appeal for information.
Detectives are urging the driver of the dark-coloured vehicle involved in the collision, as well as the person who removed the off-road motorbike from the scene, to come forward.
Police are also keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or the events immediately afterwards, along with anyone who may have captured dashcam or mobile phone footage.

On Thursday, a spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: “A man has died after a serious road traffic collision on Bolton Road, Bradford on Monday 21 September.
“Officers were called by the ambulance service at around 8.10pm on Monday 21 September to reports a dark coloured vehicle and off-road motorbike were in collision at the junction of Bolton Road and Leeds Road.
“On arrival, the vehicle had left the scene, and the off-road motorbike had been removed from the scene by an unknown person.
“A man aged 32 who was the rider of the off-road motorbike was found at the roadside with serious head injuries.
“He was taken to hospital, but sadly died yesterday (30 September).
“Officers from the Major Collision Enquiry Team are investigating and are appealing directly to the driver of the dark coloured vehicle and to the person who removed the off-road motorbike to come forward.
“Anyone who witnessed the collision or what happened after the collision or anyone with Dash-cam or mobile phone footage of the incident is also asked to come forward.
