Toronto police are searching for a man who is wanted in connection with a deadly hit-and-run that happened in Scarborough early Friday morning.
Authorities were called to the area of Midland Avenue and Kilcullen Castle Gate just before 2 a.m. for reports of a collision that killed a male pedestrian.
Detectives said in a press release that a 35-year-old man was located lying face down in the southbound lanes of Midland Avenue. An unknown driver was spotted leaving the scene after striking the man with a vehicle.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Due to the circumstances and weather, the driver may be unaware that they struck a pedestrian and failed to remain at the scene of a collision,” police added.
An investigation is ongoing.
