Ukrainian Defense Forces struck a Russian strike drone launch site, a tactical river crossing in the Donetsk region, and command and logistics facilities inside Russia’s Belgorod region on Friday, Oct. 2, and Saturday, Oct. 3, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) reported.

According to the official military dispatch published by the General Staff, Ukrainian precision units conducted targeted strikes against high-value military installations across three operational directions.

In the Donetsk region, Ukrainian fire struck a Russian military facility near occupied Donetsk used for the storage, pre-flight preparation, and launching of strike unmanned aerial vehicles.

Concurrently, Ukrainian forces destroyed a Russian military crossing over the Mokri Yaly River in the vicinity of Novoocheretuvate, disrupting Russian tactical maneuvers and logistics lines in the southern Donetsk sector.

Across the international frontier in Russia’s Belgorod region, Ukrainian forces struck an active Russian command post near the border settlement of Novaya Tavolzhanka, alongside an equipment and materiel warehouse located near Voznesenovka.

In the occupied sector of the Kherson region, Ukrainian precision fire damaged a Russian military equipment repair and maintenance base situated near the village of Hromivka.

Sustained degradation of rear logistics

The overnight engagements follow a systematic Ukrainian campaign targeting Russian rear logistics, air surveillance networks, and drone infrastructure across occupied southern and eastern regions.

Drones Strike Russian Tsymbulovo Jet-UAV Base in Oryol

Ukrainian drones struck Russia’s Tsymbulovo droneport in Oryol, one of the Russian armed forces’ largest dedicated unmanned aviation hubs, sparking blazes.

In late September, Ukrainian forces conducted precision strikes against an attack drone launch facility near occupied Donetsk alongside two surveillance radars deployed in occupied Zaporizhzhia region.

Those operations damaged a 35N6 Kasta mobile surveillance radar near Chekhohrad – engineered to track low-altitude aerial targets and feed coordinate data to anti-aircraft batteries – and a Soviet-designed P-18 mobile early-warning radar operating near Akymivka.

Ukrainian forces have consistently targeted Russian air surveillance assets to create localized gaps in radar coverage, facilitating deeper strikes by Ukrainian long-range unmanned aerial vehicles and guided munitions against rear command installations.

Earlier cross-border and frontline strikes also neutralized Russian drone manufacturing facilities, tactical command posts, and Pantsir air defense systems across Rostov, Donetsk, and Zaporizhzhia, reflecting Kyiv’s operational focus on degrading Russia’s command, control, and strike capabilities ahead of anticipated autumn military maneuvers.
