The efforts of the committed far right to advance such ideas must be taken very seriously. The liberal camp must make every effort to encourage supporters of peace to vote on Election Day
With less than a month to go before Israel’s momentous general election, it is critical to understand the vision that the far right seeks to implement. Here are a few clauses in the plan: eternal war, including preparations for a confrontation with Egypt and Jordan; increasing the size of the military at the expense of the public’s needs; increasing reserve duty days; and, of course, population transfer (“encouraging voluntary emigration”) for hundreds of thousands of Palestinians.
