In 2022, he won one of his party’s three seats with 42 per cent of the vote, helped in part by a Québec solidaire candidate who dropped out late after being caught on camera swiping a PQ flyer from a mailbox. This time, as head of a minority government, he cruised to re-election by more than 3,000 votes.

Christine Fréchette, CAQ (Trois-Rivières)
In 2022, Fréchette won her first election in the Sanguinet riding on Montreal’s South Shore with 49 per cent of the vote. This time, she switched to her hometown riding of Trois-Rivières, with incumbent CAQ MNA Jean Boulet choosing not to run again. Boulet won with 51 per cent of the vote in 2022, with Québec solidaire, the PQ and Conservatives finishing between 12 and 16 per cent.
