Two people from Lethbridge have been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of a Calgary man whose remains were found inside a burned vehicle earlier this year.
RCMP say emergency crews responded to a grass fire south of Eden Valley, about 100 kilometres southwest of Calgary, on Feb. 4.
After the fire was extinguished, investigators discovered a burned vehicle containing unidentified human remains. The victim was later identified as 24-year-old Calgary resident, Frans Faras.
Following a monthslong investigation, RCMP announced that, RCMP announced that 37-year-old Vance Pidborochynski and 30-year-old Shelby Filkowski, both of Lethbridge, have been charged with first-degree murder in Faras’s death.
Both remain in custody and are scheduled to appear in court later this year.
