The royal family continues to clash over former Prince Andrew.
In October 2026, the disgraced ex-prince filed a lawsuit against the Thames Valley Police, who arrested him and searched his homes on his birthday. He’s requesting a review of the legality of the situation.
According to royal insider Rob Shuter, Andrew’s legal action has divided the royals, but one senior member is reportedly on his side: King Charles.
“Charles privately believes Andrew has every right to challenge the warrants if he thinks they were improperly obtained,” a source told Naughty But Nice, adding, “Andrew is still his little brother. Charles believes he deserves the same legal rights as anyone else.”
However, royal observers shouldn’t “mistake that for public support.”
“The King is staying completely out of this,” the insider explained, claiming that Charles “will not publicly defend him, criticize the police or drag Buckingham Palace into this fight.”
Other insiders echoed these claims to RadarOnline, telling the outlet that Charles is “refusing to lift a finger to help his hapless brother.”
“There is so much happening right now, Andrew is definitely causing him a lot of stress,” one insider explained. “If Andrew were to get charged in the U.S. and were extradited from the U.K., the king would probably be very pleased and help facilitate his departure.”
They added that Charles is “not going to help protect his brother,” as he “wants to preserve the reputation of the monarchy.”
Charles’ refusal to help Andrew comes shortly after Andrew’s alleged response to Charles Spencer’s new book, Swan Song: Diana, My Sister. The memoir includes many slanderous allegations about Charles, and Andrew is reportedly enjoying the “suffering” it’s been causing his older brother.
“Andrew loves that the king is being exposed for how callous he is,” a source told the National Examiner. “He feels this is his brother’s karma for treating him so poorly.”

“In Swan Song, Charles Spencer provides the most intimate, loving, and honest portrait yet of his sister.”
In one chapter of Swan Song, Spencer claimed Charles sounded “giddily elated—like a lottery winner” when he learned of Princess Diana’s sudden demise in 1997. “Looking back now, I suspect the princes’ reaction must have been to think more of how this event might free him to marry the woman he loved,” Spencer wrote, referencing Queen Camilla.
Spencer also accused Charles of ignoring Diana at royal engagements, telling her he wasn’t in love with her the night before their wedding, and saying she would be forgotten “soon enough” after her tragic death.
“There may have been a time when Andrew would have been up in arms over this on his brother’s behalf, but he’s so angry with the way Charles has treated him, he’s openly gleeful about how bad this is making the king look,” the insider continued. “He’s very bitter that Charles is walking around treating him like scum when, according to Andrew, Charles has done plenty of questionable things himself and shouldn’t be looking down on anyone.”
