BEAVERTON Ore. (KPTV) – A 3-year-old boy from Beaverton has been found safe after an Amber Alert was issued on Wednesday, according to police.
On Wednesday, Beaverton Police said 3-year-old Joshua Ovalles was last seen with his non-custodial mother Mari Martinez.
Beaverton police released a new photo of Mari Martinez and are asking anyone with information about her or 3-year-old Joshua Ovalles to call 911.(Beaverton Police Department)
Investigators say Martinez took Joshua from a babysitter on Tuesday morning after a Washington County judge granted temporary custody to his father, citing that Joshua was in “immediate danger” while in Martinez’s unsupervised care.
Beaverton Police reported that Joshua was found unharmed on Thursday afternoon after Martinez dropped him off with a trusted friend in Lake Oswego, who then contacted police.
Joshua has been reunited with his father.
Martinez was found later on Thursday afternoon, and is in Beaverton Police custody on charges of kidnapping and custodial interference.
