Richard MajGRAY, Maine —

One person is dead and three others are injured after a crash on the Maine Turnpike in Gray on Friday night.

Investigators say the driver of a 2010 Honda Fit was traveling Northbound when she swerved to avoid a deer. It hit a guardrail and spun 180 degrees to face oncoming traffic. A 2016 Chevy Malibu was traveling northbound and crashed head-on into the Honda. The driver of the Honda, 31-year-old Megan Stuart, of Auburn, was transported to Maine Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. The passenger in the Honda Fit — 38-year-old Soda Mao, of Auburn — died at the scene. The driver and the passenger in the Chevy Malibu suffered minor injuries.

Maine State Police are continuing to investigate the crash.
