Hamilton police are advising the public to expect delays and avoid an area in Stoney Creek as they investigate a shooting that took place at a condo building.

Police posted on X that they are investigating an early morning shooting in the area of Green and North Service roads. Officers say there is a heavy police presence in the area.

CHCH News obtained a notice letter that the condo building manager sent to the residents of 461 Green Road.

The letter says a firearm was discharged in the rear parking lot of the building around 7:30 a.m. on Sunday.

It says the visitor parking area at the rear of the building is currently inaccessible but residents may exit the building through the main entrance or the garage entrance if their vehicle is parked underground.

An emergency meeting will also be held to review current security measures as well as to discuss implementing enhanced access control and expanded camera coverage throughout the building, according to the letter.

This is a developing story. More to come.
