The 38-year-old said ‘no words will ever be enough’ as he shared a statement on social media

Merseyside star Ray Quinn has shared the heartbreaking news his baby boy was “born sleeping”. The 38-year-old, who hails from Knowsley, posted an emotional message on social media with his wife Emily. The couple married in 2023 and share a daughter named Summer, who was born in 2022.
After finding fame on Brookside in the early 2000s, Ray went on to star on The X Factor, Dancing on Ice and Hollyoaks. He became a household name across the city, often sharing insights into his personal life to his 100,000 followers.
In a post shared on Sunday evening (October, 11), Ray announced the news their baby boy Rio Quinn was born sleeping on August 20. He shared a black and white photo of him and his wife Emily taken in hospital.
Ray said: ‘RIO QUINN’. Our beautiful boy, born sleeping… 20th August 2026. No words will ever be enough, just a lot of indescribable feelings. Heaven gained the most beautiful little Angel and we were overjoyed when Rio was born and we found out we had a little boy!!
“The last few weeks have been a lot but our saving grace has been each other. We just want to say a special thanks to Becky, Rebecca, Ali, Marie, Sarah and Lorraine @liverpoolwomens and to the HoneySuckle team you go above and beyond, and although it was the most heartbreaking week of our lives you created some of the most beautiful moments and we have such special memories with our boy to keep forever. Thank you!”

He added: “When it’s you that goes through such heartbreaking times like this, you soon find out just how much help and support there is out there. It’s a whole lot more than you’d ever expect. The comments on social media were filled with love and supportive messages. One follower called Jade said: “Oh my goodness. So sorry to read about your beautiful boy, sending love and strength to your family.”
A second named Pauline said: “This is truly heartbreaking. I’m sorry to hear that your beautiful baby boy was born sleeping xx.”
A third called Kamani said: “So sorry for your loss, heaven has gained a beautiful angel.” A fourth called Nic said: “Oh this is such sad news. I’m so sorry to hear this. Sending love and strength to you and your family at the most devastating time.”
Ray tied the knot with his partner Emily in 2023, after they first met in 2017. The Brookside star was previously married to Emma Stephens, and he shares a son named Harry, born in 2012, with his ex-wife.
