Market Of The Day: Netanyahu Out By End Of 2026

The market has $124.5 million traded. Yes is at 43% (+133), up from 39% on Monday morning, and No is at 60% (-150). Israel votes on Oct. 27, and the official results are due to be confirmed on Nov. 4.

The polls point to no clear winner. A Kan survey published on Sunday gave Netanyahu’s coalition 53 seats, Gadi Eisenkot’s bloc 50 and the Arab parties 13, with 61 needed for a majority. Eisenkot’s party, Yashar, led Likud by 22 seats to 20, but his bloc lost two seats in a week. An average of four polls had the two blocs at about 52 each. A second Polymarket market, with $45.8 million traded, asks who will be prime minister after the election: Eisenkot is at 48%, Netanyahu at 31% and Naftali Bennett at 15%.

Those two markets answer different questions, and the calendar separates them. A former Israeli government spokesman told Fox News that deadlock is the most likely result, and in that case Netanyahu stays on as caretaker prime minister until a new government is sworn in. Likud officials quoted by the Jerusalem Post talk privately about winning 55 to 56 seats, which would be enough to block a rival coalition.

The pick: No at 60% (-150). For Yes to pay, the opposition has to win on Oct. 27, put together 61 seats and swear in a government, all before Jan. 1. No bloc is polling at 61, and Eisenkot’s bloc sits at 50 without the Arab parties. Israel held five elections between 2019 and 2022 and the same arithmetic is back. A fair price for No is closer to 70%. The risk is a clean opposition win that the polls are not showing.

The Gemini line more than doubled, and the cause is not confirmed: no Google announcement of a public release could be found before this story was filed, so there is no pick on it. The crypto rows all moved the same way. Bitcoin was at $81,969 late on Monday, down 2.1% in 24 hours, and Ethereum was at $2,450.54, down 3.7%. Monday’s pick here, No on bitcoin reaching $90,000 in October, improved from about 60% to about 66%.

The pick: Yes on Ethereum falling to $2,400 in October, at 64% (-178). The price is about $50, or 2%, above the line with 18 days left in the month. The September inflation report lands on Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. ET, and the consensus is 3.6%, up from 3.4% in August. Ethereum fell harder than bitcoin on Monday and led all coins in forced selling, with $115 million of leveraged positions closed. The dollar index is at its highest level since April 2025. This market pays if the price touches $2,400 once, and one bad hour does that. A fair price is nearer 75%. A soft 3.5% print would hurt this pick, and Polymarket’s inflation market gives that a 7% chance.

Milwaukee beat the Dodgers 7-4 on Monday and leads the NLCS 2-0. William Contreras had three hits, a home run and three RBIs, and Yoshinobu Yamamoto lasted only 2 2/3 innings. Cleveland took the ALCS opener 7-3 in Tampa Bay, scoring all seven runs in the sixth inning or later. Game 2 of the ALCS is on Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET (TBS), with Parker Messick starting for Cleveland against Freddy Peralta. The NLCS resumes in Los Angeles on Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET.

The crowd and the books now agree on the favorite: Milwaukee is 47% on Polymarket, up from 34% on Monday, and the Dodgers have dropped from 36% to 23%. The disagreement is in the American League. Polymarket pays +529 on Cleveland, more than any of the three books, and two of them are at +425 or shorter. On Tampa Bay it is the other way round, with two books paying more than the crowd.

The pick: Guardians to win the World Series at +529 on Polymarket. Cleveland has won four playoff games in a row and has already taken a game on the road, yet the crowd gives it 16% while two books price it near 19%. Tampa Bay is only about a -130 favorite to win Game 2 at home, so a 2-0 Cleveland lead is close to a coin flip. Monday’s pick, the Dodgers at +185, is losing: that price is now +350 after a second defeat. The Guardians ticket is a small one for the same reason.

Resolving This Week

Wednesday’s inflation number is the one that moves other markets. The Fed’s October hold, Monday’s lead pick, slipped from 84% to 81% and the hike rose to 20%. The inflation market still leans slightly hotter than the 3.6% consensus.

Long Shot Of The Day

A US-Iran agreement on the Strait of Hormuz by Oct. 31 is priced at 13% (+669), in a market with $1.8 million traded. There is a live offer on the table: Iran proposed in late September to lift its shipping restrictions and resume nuclear talks within seven days if the US ends its naval blockade and eases oil sanctions. President Trump has publicly rejected it, but Iran’s foreign ministry said on Monday that messages are still passing through mediators. That is the whole case for Yes. Against it, the Revolutionary Guard claimed on Monday to have struck three supertankers in the strait over two days, and a US jet disabled a commercial vessel in the Gulf of Oman on Saturday. Two sides still shooting at ships do not usually sign in 18 days. At +669 the price is about right, and the better long shot is the same deal by Dec. 31 at 34% (+194), or no bet at all.
