KALISPELL, Mont. — President Donald Trump rallied Wednesday night in Kalispell, speaking for about an hour and 15 minutes in support of Montana GOP candidates for U.S. House and Senate Aaron Flint and Kurt Alme.

Trump’s visit and rally brought plenty of attention to the state and NBC Montana’s Phil Howard received an exclusive interview with President Donald Trump before he took the stage in Kalispell.

We asked Trump if he would support suspending diesel taxes in Montana.

“It is something I may support, but we’re going to have it fixed very quickly, we’re going to have Iran defeated very quickly, and as soon as that happens oil and diesel will be falling like a rock, it’s going to be coming down very fast, but it’s something I may do anyways,” Trump said.

Discussing the Iran war, Flint previously told NBC Montana to “get it done with or don’t do it at all.” We asked if Trump agrees and when the U.S. is getting out of Iran.

“I agree with him,” Trump said. “We’re going to have that war done very quickly, and oil will be coming down, and they will never have a nuclear weapon. It was all about the nuclear weapon, they will never have a nuclear weapon.”

On the cost of living — a top concern of supporters lining up for his rally — Trump blamed former President Joe Biden.

“We inherited the worst inflation from Biden in the history of our county, and we have that down, very down low, but it’s going to come down even lower once we finish the war,” Trump said.

On Montana, Trump said, “I love Montana. Well, I won it three times in a landslide. I got the highest vote ever in the history of Montana, so I happen to like it.”
