Iranian engineers and specialists have succeeded in manufacturing a large polymerisation reactor locally for the petrochemical industry in the southern province of Fars, in a move that reflects the development of local technical and engineering capabilities in the manufacture of specialised industrial equipment.

Experts noted that the reactor weighs 500 tonnes and is 40 metres long, confirming that it was manufactured entirely by Iranian specialists, according to Pars Today, a partner of TV BRICS.

The source states that the technology for manufacturing this type of reactor was previously available in only three countries, highlighting the importance of this achievement in expanding reliance on domestic capabilities for the production of equipment required by the petrochemical industry.

The manufacture of this reactor forms part of efforts aimed at developing Iran’s industrial capabilities and localising specialised technologies, thereby strengthening the petrochemical sector’s ability to manufacture its own equipment domestically.
