Prisoners report being shot with rubber bullets at close range and being denied medical care. With lawyers’ access restricted and independent oversight blocked, prisoners remain at the mercy of their guards

The violence against Palestinian prisoners in our jails has many faces. One of those was revealed in Hagar Shezaf’s article on rubber bullets being fired at the prisoners and causing severe injuries. The prisoners said this shooting often occurs at close range, inside their cells. The article included the story of one prisoner who was shot with a rubber bullet and had to have a testicle amputated at the hospital.
