A homicide investigation is underway after a woman died in Brisbane‘s north.Â
Emergency services were called to Osprey Place in Taigum, about 12.30am on Saturday, after a family member found a woman suffering from critical injuries was found unresponsive inside a home.
The woman, 47, died at the scene despite attempts to revive her. She has since been identified as nurse Carra Luke.
Following initial investigations, officers attended a Hackman Street home in McDowall ,11km away, a short time later, where they located a 52-year-old man, who is assisting police with their inquiries.
No charges have yet been laid.
Police confirmed that the pair were known to each other and are investigating all angles.
‘I’m unsure whether this male will be charged with this offence formally or whether he’ll be released, we’re still investigating,’Â Acting Assistant Commissioner Rhys Wildman told reporters.
‘I think any scene where there’s violence involved is traumatic for including first responders, police and ambulance whilst trained and respond to events such as this right across the state on a daily basis, it’s still very confronting and a difficult scene for them to manage.
