California announced it is ramping up resources to help communities across the state prepare for potentially devastating storms and flooding spurred by a record ongoing El Niño, according to a news release shared first with The Washington Post. Emergency officials said new planned actions are also in response to President Donald Trump’s administration’s efforts to push more disaster response responsibility onto states.
