Rangers ran away with this one in the end, but it will be a slight concern to Derek McInnes that his side put themselves under pressure once more as St Johnstone enjoyed the overwhelming majority of the play in the first 15 minutes of that second half, as they sought out an equaliser.

The Light Blues had enough chances to win 10 games of football in the first half, with Kelsy’s effort that forced a good save from Toby Steward in the Saints goal a standout where he should really score.

It all ended up alright on the night as they eventually found a second which opened the floodgates, and the fact that they are being so productive in terms of chances created is a huge plus, with that not always being the case in the last few years.

Badredine Bouanani and Minsu Kim also linked up superbly at times this afternoon and they now look to be the stick-on starting wingers for the manager, with Gassama’s superb run-and-cross for the fourth showing him he has some strength in depth off the bench.

The goals certainly flowed in the end, with Naderi now moving onto five league goals for the season so far. If the blossoming strike partnership with Kelsy can keep firing, Rangers will win a lot more games of football this season.
