SANTA FE, N.M. —

A tornado caused significant wind and storm damage in Santa Fe on Saturday night, the city said.

Residents reported knocked-down trees, structural damage, torn-off roofs, and debris strewn about as emergency services responded to the area of Rancho Siringo and Camino Chueco.

The city meanwhile urged residents to stay indoors and avoid the affected areas to allow emergency and rescue personnel to respond.

Arroyos, drainage channels, streambeds, flooded streets and areas with running water were highlighted as rain and storms continued Saturday night.

Crews will be working on clearing debris and downed powerlines on Sunday morning.
