NEWPORT, Ore. — Crews are on scene at a fire at the Pacific Seafood facility at 203 SW Bay Blvd in Newport, and the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office has issued a Level 3 (Go Now) evacuation order within a one-mile radius of the area due to concerns about a potential ammonia release.
An evacuation shelter is being established at Sam Case Elementary School, located at 459 NE 12th St. Evacuees are permitted to bring their pets.
The City of Newport is advising residents to remain indoors if possible and recommend wearing a mask if they must go outside.
