The Courier Mail reported the Titans have given Fifita permission to leave the Titans early despite being contracted until the end of the 2026 season.
Fifita is currently sidelined with an ankle injury that has seen him play just eight games this season and it appears he has played his last game for the club.

The Titans advised Fifita’s management that he is free to leave on Friday, opening the door for the former Origin star to reunite with former Broncos mentor Wayne Bennett at the Rabbitohs.
Bennett gave Fifita his NRL debut back in 2018 at the Broncos and he has gone on to score 50 tries in 134 games for the Broncos and Titans, who he joined in 2021 on a mega $1.25 million a season contract.
Bennett revealed he is interested in talking to Fifita once the November 1 deadline comes around, but the Titans’ move has brought forward those talks.
“I don’t know what the situation is with David and the Titans,” Bennett said.
“If he is available, I would be interested, yes for sure.

“Until he gets permission to talk, we pretty much have our hands tied.
“If he comes onto the market I would be interested in him.”
Fifita is open to moving to Sydney after backflipping on a four year $3.2 million deal to join the Roosters last season.
The sticking point in Fifita’s move to Souths could be money, with the Rabbitohs unable to match his current salary worth $950,000 a season.
“David is a great talent, I gave him his debut at the Broncos,” Bennett said.

“He is a contracted player at the Titans at the moment, so I don’t want to get myself into trouble.
“I know what David is capable of and if comes onto the market, I’d like to talk to him.”
The 25-year-old has recently undergone a third bout of ankle surgery after a horror season that saw him dropped by Des Hasler.
At his best Fifita is one of the most damaging forwards in the game, but he played the last of his eight Origins in 2023 and the last of his four Tests for Tonga in 2022.

TITANS’ $4.5M BID TO LOCK UP STAR AMID RIVAL INTEREST
The Titans have launched a bold $4.5 million bid to sign boom halfback Jayden Campbell to a long-term contract extension amid interest from rivals including the Dragons.
Code Sports reported the Titans tabled a mega $4.5 million five-year deal to make Campbell one of the game’s $1 million a season stars.
The Titans are desperate to lock up Campbell’s services, given he is off-contract in 2026 and free to negotiate with rivals from November 1.
The Dragons are eying Campbell as a potential signing to ignite their spluttering backline.
The Titans’ offer would see Campbell commit to the Titans until at least the end of the 2031 season.
The 25-year-old has scored 24 tries in 75 games for the titans since his debut in 2021.

Campbell has played primarlily fullback for the Titans before switching to halfback in 2025 under Des Hasler.
Campbell’s current deal is worth $700,000 a season with the contract upgrade to push his annual earnings to $800,000 in 2027 and $1 million a season at the back end of the five year deal.
Titans skipper Tino Fa’asuamaleaui and David Fifita have reached the $1 million salary mark at the club, but they have been linked to the Storm and Rabbitohs in recent weeks.
