A motorist in York Region has died after police say a deer was struck by another vehicle and hit the car the victim was driving.
The collision happened just before 7 p.m. in the town of Georgina, near Ravenshoe and Miles roads, just east of Highway 48.
Police said preliminary information suggests a deer was hit by a vehicle and then the animal collided with another car.
The driver of the second vehicle was later pronounced dead, police said.
Two people in the vehicle that struck the deer sustained minor injuries.
