Manchester City conceded late and were held to a draw by Paris St-Germain as their wait for a win in the Women’s Champions League this season continues.
Tara Elimbi Gilbert slotted the ball past goalkeeper Ayaka Yamashita in the 88th minute, shortly after Khadija Shaw had given City the lead from the penalty spot.
It had been an uneventful match until Shaw was brought down in the box by Griedge Mbock Bathy and put away the spot kick.
That sparked an immediate response from the visitors, who went up the other end and carved open City’s defence to equalise.
Jamaican international Shaw had squandered chances earlier on, including a header that dropped wide and a strike that was tipped behind for a corner in the second half.
The visitors had offered little going forward until Gilbert’s equaliser but frustrated City for large spells.
The result means Andree Jeglertz’s side remain unbeaten in all competitions this season but City have drawn all three of their European matches.
They still have Inter Milan, BK Hacken and Austria Wien to play in the league phase but City will be considered favourites and remain in a good position to qualify for the knockout stages.
