WASHINGTON, D.C. (KOLO) – The Trump administration is demanding the state of Nevada remove references to what it calls gender ideology.
The demand was also made of 45 other states and territories in a letter addressed to them on Tuesday morning.
Trump demanded Nevada remove the references in their federally funded PREP educational materials within 60 days.
“Accountability is coming,” said Acting Assistant Secretary Andrew Gradison. “Federal funds will not be used to poison the minds of the next generation or advance dangerous ideological agendas. The Trump Administration will ensure that PREP reflects the intent of Congress, not the priorities of the left.”
Should Nevada fail to meet President Trump’s deadline, the Administration for Children and Families says Nevada would forfeit more than $1 million in federal funding.
The Trump administration did not provide clarity as to what it considers a reference to gender ideology.
