More than 900 properties lost power in the Pyes Pa area of Tauranga this afternoon.

According to Powerco, an unplanned outage affected 903 properties in the area of Barkes Corner and the Oropi Rd roundabout.

Power went off around 2pm.

Powerco said a site investigation was under way and power
was estimated to be back on around 6.15pm.

Some affected residents reported their power was back on about 2.45pm.
