There’s been a Garda pursuit of a car across County Clare after a burglary in County Tipperary.
Two men are in custody after the car drove the wrong way on the M7 motorway into County Limerick yesterday.
The first incident happened in Roscrea when a home was burgled in Parkmore, where a number of items and a sum of cash were stolen at around 4.20am yesterday.
A number of similar incidents were since reported in the area.
Then Gardaà in Killaloe responded to an attempted burglary at a commercial premises on Convent Hill in County Clare at around 5:45am yesterday morning.
While responding, a car deliberately crashed into an official Garda patrol car – no Gardaà were hurt.
Gardaà chased the car into Ballina and towards Birdhill, where a number of items were then thrown at the patrol car.
The car then went onto the M7 motorway, driving dangerously, travelling southbound on the northbound carriageway.
It was brought to a stop on the Golf Links Road in Ballysimon, Co. Limerick with help from the Limerick Armed Support Unit.
Two men in their 40s and 20s are being held this morning at a Garda station in the Clare/Tipperary region.
