Circus Centre Melbourne is a new creative circus hub in Melbourne on Wurundjeri Country, led by the Flying Fruit Fly Circus, Australia’s National Youth Circus and the country’s only full-time circus school for young people aged 8–19. This new venture is a home for world-class circus training and creative exploration, building opportunities for community engagement and industry growth.
We’re looking for a Venue & Program Coordinator to join our team at Circus Centre Melbourne. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in keeping our space running smoothly and supporting the delivery of amazing programs for members, artists, and the community.
Position: Venue & Program Coordinator Location: Circus Centre Melbourne, 35 Johnston St, Collingwood VIC 3066 Hours: Part-time, 0.6 FTE over 3 – 4 days per week, Monday to Friday between 8am to 6pm. Remuneration: $60,00 – $63,000 pro-rata per annum, commensurate with experience, plus Superannuation and all entitlements Term: 2 years with the possibility to become ongoing, preferred start date mid-September 2025.
What will you be doing, exactly?
In this role, you’ll be:
Keeping Circus Centre Melbourne running smoothly every day – from answering enquiries to making sure the space feels welcoming and organised.
Being the first point of contact for artists, families, and community members, delivering friendly and professional customer service.
Coordinating bookings and programs so classes, workshops, and events run without a hitch.
Overseeing venue needs – arranging cleaning, liaising with contractors, and ensuring maintenance issues are resolved promptly.
Supporting safe and efficient operations by managing systems, processes, and communication across the team.
Gathering and organising program information to help us evaluate and improve what we do.
You’ll thrive in this role if you bring:
Strong organisational skills and the ability to juggle competing priorities and problem solve.
Great communication – you’re friendly, approachable, and professional in person, on the phone, and over email.
Confidence with digital tools like booking systems, Microsoft Office, and cloud platforms – and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
A genuine interest in working with a diverse creative community and making people feel welcome.
