As the second half gets underway here, confirmation from the man at the centre of the controversy in tonight’s early game that the bunker made a correct decision in denying the Warriors a match-winning try. The bunker denied the try after ruling forward Demetric Vaimauga had touched the ball before Isaiah Iongi spilled a bomb, with replays showed on Fox League appearing to be inconclusive. But Vaimauga told the broadcaster he had touched it, but felt the ball may have travelled backwards (it didn’t).

So hopefully that snuffs out the controversy over that early game, after a week of rugby league that has already had its share of controversy. A lot of that has centred around the Roosters, who go on the attack now for their first points tonight.

Finally it looks like they’re going to score, but Billy Smith puts down a James Tedesco pass as the Roosters eyed an overlap on the left.
