Paul McCartney and his wife Nancy Shevell enjoyed a heavy-metal date night in the Hamptons.

On Thursday, Aug. 28, the Beatle and his wife of 14 years stepped out in Amagansett, N.Y., for an intimate Metallica show at Stephen Talkhouse, which accommodates only 250 people. The live show concert was produced by SiriusXM to celebrate their new channel, Maximum Metallica.

McCartney, 83, and Shevell, 65, were photographed outside of the star-studded show, which was also attended by Michael J. Fox, Sylvester Stallone, Andy Cohen, Colin Jost, Heidi Gardner, Ed Burns, Maria Menounos and more.

The Hamptons were actually the setting for where McCartney and Shevell’s love story began: They met in the idyllic Long Island, N.Y., area and were spotted kissing on the beach in 2007, before getting engaged in 2011 and married the same year.

Earlier this year, McCartney offered some rare insight into his romance with Shevell in a blog post when a fan asked how they spend their time together at home.

“We chat and catch up with each other. We eat lunch or dinner. Well, any meal really, as we love cooking,” McCartney wrote. “Sometimes we will watch something on TV together, and I always read before bed, usually a biography, while Nancy finishes watching a series.”

In the blog post, he added: “We’re pretty much like any other normal couple!”

In 2023, McCartney revealed that he applied similarly simple principles to their relationship.

“I try to be helpful as a husband … If there’s a problem, I like to be the guy that will lend some strength to it,” he said in a post on his website at the time. “I’m always very happy to be the person Nancy relies on, and to be her strength when she goes through tough times.”
