There are some very interesting statistics. Workplace culture can vary greatly, especially regarding how employees are treated at the media network. Last year, however, Channels 7 & 9 faced toxic workplace issues. This was highlighted in the 4Corners story on ABC about Seven’s toxic culture. Unfortunately, the work environment was filled with constant bullying, making it an unpleasant place for young people looking to build their careers at Channel 7. Two months later, the culture at Nine worsened, with increased bullying and poor treatment of staff. Some employees have been there for far too long. Sadly, it never ends the way young people and women are treated in the media industry. I hope that Ch 7 and 9 will change their workplace culture.
