Sevastopol’s eight-player football team opened its Across the Bay Conference schedule Friday with a 50-0 victory at Gillett.

The Pioneers jumped out to a 36-0 lead at halftime against the Tigers and added two more touchdowns in the second half with the game on running time.

Sevastopol senior quarterback Logan Schuh passed for 217 yards and rushed for another 184 yards to account for a total of four touchdowns. 

The Pioneers’ leading receivers included Ray Johnson with 90 yards and a touchdown and Bo Tanck with 80 yards and a touchdown.

On defense for Sevastopol, Cash Kuehn intercepted a pass.

The Pioneers, who improved to 2-0 overall and 1-0 in conference play, host their first home game of the season Sept. 5 against Suring.
