We’re officially in Week 6 – the halfway point of the competition.
Can you bloody believe it?!
Homesickness, sleep deprivation and the judges’ roasting of their living and dining has put Sonny in a less than celebratory mood as he gets ready for another bumper week.
But first, well, his mood is probably not going to be improved by this week’s Open for Inspections.
While most of this group is STILL relentlessly positive and don’t have too much negativity to share about House 4’s last place room, Sonny and Alicia’s bad mood finds them roasting Han and Can’s instead.

“You’re kidding me, look at the rug,” Alicia says, claiming she’d ordered the same rug that didn’t arrive.
Oh no, not copying scandal 2.0!
Seeing everyone else’s spaces has hit Alicia hard, and with Sonny down as well, the couple decide it’s time for a reset.
They head out for a car ride together, but a call with Alicia’s best friend, who is organising presents for their youngest son’s birthday since they are states away, sets them both off.
A tough start for House 4. (Nine)
Hey, sometimes you just need to cry it out!
DAN VS DAN EXCLUSIVE: ‘Worst room yet’: Dan and Dani roast one team’s living room and point toward one feature for ‘ruining it’ all
This week is all about the rumpus, which has everyone showing off their creativity with ideas ranging from entertainment spaces to a wellness room.
But things quickly go from bad to worse for Alicia, who hadn’t realised there was a Monday morning deadline for Beacon lighting orders this week.
Aaaand yeah, she’s missed it.
She seriously spirals into what she calls “a full blown panic attack meltdown”.
“I am angry, I’m frustrated at myself because ultimately it’s my fault,” she says.
She needs to get away (again), so heads to Hepburn to check out on the progress of their spa challenge area.
Thankfully, Britt and Adrian Cursio are also there and with hugs, a pep talk and cannolis to help her see light at the end of the tunnel.
Nothing a hug can’t fix! (Nine)
Robby and Mat are on a mission to come in under budget this week and take out the CommBank $10k, which has had them swap out an extra labourer for… themselves?
“Cutting hair, cutting timber, it’s all the same stuff isn’t it?” their builder Dave encourages.
Sure! If you say so!
Looking like a natural! (Nine)
After a hard day of physical labour, they’re awarded with their MG Getaway for winning Living and Dining…
Only to have to catch their own dinner. BIG day for the lads.
Back at the chumps dinner, the fallout from the copying scandal is still obvious.

Earlier today, Han tried to make amends again in a private conversation with Alicia and she says she wants to just accept it and move on.
But there’s definitely still some lingering awkwardness.
The next morning, Han’s day gets off to a stellar start with a surprise $5,000 from McCafé, because their wine fridge was baristas Tina and Shayla’s favourite feature in the living spaces.
But the positive vibes soon come crashing down.
Womp womp. (Nine)
House 2’s rumpus arch, made of Truecore steel, was designed before there was a door on the room. Now, there is a door and this thing is definitely not fitting through it.
Instead, they have to cut it into two pieces and put it back together once inside.
It’s an exciting day on site – pool delivery day!
THE BLOCK EP 21 RECAP: Marty Fox horrified as one team ‘stuffs up’ most important room – but another leaves him speechless
While everyone is mesmerised by the giant pools being dropped from the sky, Britt takes the opportunity to sneak her top secret reformer pilates machines into her house.
The deadline for the massive Hepburn Bathhouse & Spa challenge is fast approaching and most of the teams are feeling good about their progress.
Emma and Ben visit a quarry to find the perfect stone slab for under their bath.
The only issue is getting it delivered in one piece:
Each space is also getting its lighting installed today and Han and Can want to follow the style they’ve done throughout their house, with strip lights on the ceiling.
The problem? House 4 had already planned to do the same in the same spot.
While Han and Can (once again) insist this is nothing but a coincidence, Sonny sees it as “a cheap imitation”.
Foreman Dan says it best: “All’s fair in love and The Block”.

Philosopher Dan. (Nine)
That night, Robby and Mat plan a night at the pub with Alyssa and throw a couple of texts out to invite the other teams.
However, Han and Can don’t get one – as they’re both suffering a very bad cold.
Even though their sickness means they wouldn’t have gone anyway, they have to admit “it would’ve been nice to be asked”.
But still, they’re putting on brave faces.
“It didn’t effect me that much, geez. If I let that effect me I would not survive here that’s for sure,” Han admits.
Tomorrow night, from coughs to fails worthy of Australia’s Funniest Home Videos, the exhaustion of the halfway point takes its hold.
Plus, what’s this we hear of an alliance? Consider us intrigued!
