Spider-Man swings into Magic: The Gathering on September 26 and we have two exclusive cards to reveal thanks to the neighbourhood friendly folks at Wizards of the Coast.

The first card is a special one as it’s an alternate-art promo available exclusively in the Marvel Spider-Man Bundle. And of course, it’s none other than the Radioactive Spider.

This alternate-art version is inspired by Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, showcasing the spider that bites Miles Morales. The artwork also includes Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy, woven into the web – a nod to the other characters featured in the film.

Radioactive Spider is a 1/1 creature for 1(G), with Reach and Deathtouch.

You can also activate Fateful Bite for 2 mana at sorcery speed allowing you to sacrifice Radioactive Spider to search your library for a Spider Hero card, reveal it, put it into your hand, then shuffle.

It’s a flavourful effect that fits the set perfectly, letting you tutor out any Spider Hero. So if you’re running something like our second exclusive card reveal, this little spider becomes a key piece for getting your Spider onto the battlefield.

The second card is our hero, Spiders-Man himself. 

Spiders-Man, Heroic Horde is a Legendary Creature Spider Hero that costs (1)(G)(G) mana. This 2/3 creature brings the classic Spider-Man agility to the battlefield with a flavorful Web-Slinging casting ability.

Web-Slinging can be activated for (4)(G)(G), but you may only cast it by returning a tapped creature you control to its owner’s hand. When you do, Spiders-Man, Heroic Horde enters the battlefield with a bonus: you gain 3 life and create two 2/1 green Spider creature tokens with reach.

The set is looking incredible so far especially for fans of the comics and movies. Magic: The Gathering Marvel’s Spider-Man launches on September 26, with pre-release events from September 19.
